Testing 2008 Well its that’s time again. Over the next 12 months we will be screening our cats for HCM followed by Hip Scores We have decided at this point in time not to DNA test our Maine Coons for the HCM Gene. But to continue with testing using echocardiogram. The DNA testing is still quite new and more research over the next few years will see many improvements in the results and possible identification of more genes. We will also be changing the way we hip score our Maine Coons. Our Maine Coons will now be scored using the PENNHip scoring protocol. Echocardiogram results will be posted on our website as we receive them. Original certified copies of all results will be available for viewing on request when purchasing a kitten.
